JOY AND FULFILLMENT

What is Joy? Joy is one of the fruit of the spirit of God according to Galatians 5:22-23

How do I find joy and fulfillment? Joy is found in the presence of God, for the bible confirms this in Psalm 16: 11 and it says, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." And Joy brings fulfillment.

Joy comes from within and from a place of rest and trust. It comes from a deep trust in God's love for you. Joy is not happiness, because happiness is seasonal, but Joy is eternal, and it lasts forever. Joy comes from a place of being content irrespective of the circumstances around you. One reaches this place in life when the Lord is sufficient for them.

It’s not something that we can fake, but It's an inner peace that we have with God. Those who live in God and for God will possess the fruit of his spirit and joy is one of them, and the more we focus on God's love for us and spend time with him through his word, the more joyful and fulfilled we will become.

How do you remain in God's love? We remain in God's love by seeking him and by wanting to know his thoughts and plan for our lives. Learning the thoughts or the plan of God for our lives will bring us closer to him, as getting closer to God will help us discover how much he loves us, and discovering the level of his love for us will bring us joy, peace and fulfillment.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. "

The plan of God for our lives is for peace and fulfillment, but we must also remember that we have an enemy the devil who will do anything to try to steal our peace if we allow him. We must be conscious of the fact that our joy doesn't depend on the circumstances around us, but in contrary James 1:2-3 says " Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance", and God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God according to Romans 8:28

This means God will turn any circumstances that meant to destroy us to work for our good, because we love him, and no weapon formed against us will prosper. Nehemiah 8: 10 says, the joy of the Lord is our strength, and according to Isaiah 43:2 " he also promised to be with us when we pass through the waters, and when we pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over us.

When we walk through the fire, we will not be burned, the flames will not set us ablaze. These promises are for every child of God who have decided to live their lives for the glory of God and for Christ Jesus.

I will conclude with this, the joy of the Lord is our strength, and in order to experience this joy and fulfillment which can only be found in God, we must seek him and stay in his love and presence, because it's in his presence where there is fullness of joy and fulfillment.

Prayer

Dear father, I thank you for salvation and I thank you because I belong to you, and I am at peace with you, as I find Joy in your presence. I am glad to be called your son or daughter. Thank you for loving me, and I love you Lord! In the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
