CHOOSE THE GOSPEL OF TRUTH, LOVE AND RECONCILIATION

Updated: Jan 4, 2021

John 13:34-35 says, 34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

According to our theme scripture, our Lord Jesus Christ commends us to operate in Love, and by this the world will be able to identify us as his disciples.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of truth, love and reconciliation, and we have a mandate to spread this gospel in love.

In Mark 8:33, we learned that Jesus Christ rebuked the evil spirit that spoke in Peter his disciple. and that spirit was resisting the word or the will of God for Jesus Christ. Mark 8:33 says, "33 But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

The word of God is his will, his thoughts and his plan for us. Therefore, our Lord Jesus Christ's mission and concern was to fulfill the will of the father and His character is a good example for all of us to follow.

Any one or organization that would try to influence you to act in a way that would pull you away from God or act in the way that rebels against the word of God, that man or organization is not for you. They might have a hidden agenda, or they are operating in ignorance. Hosea 4:6 says, my people perish because of lack of knowledge. They might also be rebellious toward God and his word, as Psalm 68:6 says. God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, Only the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

Jesus Christ rebuked Peter not because he hated him, He loved him, but He had to correct him when he was going in a wrong direction, as He also chose him as his disciple. Jesus Christ rebuked Peter, because He recognized the spirit that spoke in Peter was not from God and was not in alignment with the word of God. Therefore, He had to take a stand and rebuke that spirit. This scripture reveals to us how bold Jesus was even to those close to him and how he had his priorities set.

This is a good example to show us that rebuke is a form of correction to those we also love, and a good example of one with good intention, but is under an evil influence. It can come in a form of pity or care but rebellious against the word of God. One must be extremely vigilant to recognize this one, as its coming as an angel of light.

Jesus Christ was able to accomplish all of His mission, because he remained firm and focused to the goal. Our Lord Jesus firmly stood on the word of God, no matter how painful the journey was. He focused on the mission, because He knew the word of God is true and wisdom.

I pray for you today, that you will take a stand and decide to stand firm on the word of God, the gospel of peace and love, as the word of God is the light on your path. Decide to move only according to the word of God and you will notice a big change in your life in a short amount of time.

The word of God is the greater wisdom that will separate you from the things and those that are not for you, and lead you to the things and those that are for you. In another word the word of God will build you up and lead you to your inheritance.

Acts 20:32 says, and now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Choose the gospel of peace and love, as God is love.
